Antiqued Jewelry Box

So it has been a while since I have posted anything! That doesn’t mean I have been sitting around doing nothing, rather just forgot to take pictures of what I had been making. Here is one project that turned out rather nicely and was a gift, so I couldn’t post it right away! 🙂

So, I took an ordinary blank jewelry box, painted it first with a crackling medium and then painted it cream. (To give the old fashion look)I added felt to the bottom of the box on the inside & out! For the artwork on the top and the quote on the inside I printed them out on iron on transfer paper. (Be sure you tell the printer to reverse the image). Then ironed them on to muslin. For added decoration on the top I used various jewelry findings I had collected!

2011 in review

The stats helper monkeys prepared a 2011 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,100 times in 2011. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.

Variation of Project #40 Pirate Ship

I had some of the metal left, so I painted it and added shells I had picked up on the beach! Added hangers on the back and there you go!
